Default New Dog on the Block!

Yesterday I was outside with my dogs and I heard a dog barking close to our fence. Come to find out...my next door neighbor adopted a greyhound! Their last greyhound passed away in the fall and they were unsure if they were ready to adopt last time I spoke to them. But apparently they fell in love with a dog at a greyhound rescue and it all happened rather quickly. The foster mom dropped him off yesterday and he is BEAUTIFUL. I hope they don't mind me posting a pic of him, but I don't think they will. The strange part is - he BARKS. I thought greyhounds hardly ever barked! He only really barks when he hears other dogs barking but in our neighborhood that is VERY OFTEN.

He is rather beautiful! Lovely face.

Irish water spaniels don't bark either - don't you believe it! If someone comes within 100M of our property he barks!

I'm sure they won't mind you posting the picture either.

He is gorgeous, some GH bark but not a lot, just let him off many don't have a nice history and he might be gaurding his new found happiness.

I've offered to check in on him and/or take him out for potty since I go home every day for lunch. Only one of my dogs has met him so far. My hope is that they will all do well with him and he can come over for playdates. They don't yet have their yard completely fenced in so it would be a great way for him to run around until they do. I would also love to be able to take him over my house every day at lunch and let him play with my 3 - it would be a win/win for everyone! Cassidy and Dusty will be fine with him, it's Charley that is my loose cannon! Once I get to know Toby a little better I'll be able to figure out if he and Charley will do okay.

He's a lovely dog. It would be great if they all got on together.

How wonderful of your neighbor to give Toby a home and for your dogs to get a new friend. He's a lovely dog and I hope we get to see pictures of them all playing together.

Oh he's absolutely gorgeous! Blue brindles are a rare sight, he's stunning. His markings are very similar to my Todd's, however Todd has less stripes. Oh, and yep, the odd grey does bark I've trained my two to bark on command though.

More pics please it would be great if you could take him out, they are great dogs!
