Default Willow puppy photos

Hi everybody =D

We brought Willow home on Friday the 15th, and then abruptly went on holiday to the lake, so I haven't been able to post pictures yet.

She's actually a black tri, but with only a few copper hairs. You can sort of see a couple of them on the last photo. I think I should call her a "phantom tri" .

Also, any ideas for her registered name? She will be registered with the American Stock Dog Registry, I believe, and I think we get to come up with a cool registered name for her... mum's name is Crushed Velvet and sire's is Lil' Boy Seamus.

Now without further adieu, here's my gorgeous girl Willow.

In our boat, which she is very good in.

Just looking cute

Jungle pup! Herding me in the long grass.

"Come on! Stop taking photos and play!"

Running with my friend down the dock!

Portrait

Now these are my favourite pictures out of 250 . I only saved 70 and the rest were blurry haha... when she's in play mode she's non stop!
She's sort of a conglomeration of a few different animals... we've noticed she has a bear bum, chicken legs when wet, and rabbit feet! She doesn't like getting wet but she does like playing in the water. She'll be swimming soon, I suspect.

And a shameless plug...
I have them displayed on my computer by a program called Picasa by Google. It is an excellent program that acts as a gallery, but you can also adjust colour, eliminate red eye, e-mail in concise file sizes, export, crop, straighten, make collages, print and make a web album for others to look at, all with just a click. It also resized all of my images for me before I uploaded them to Photobucket! I am a computer savvy person who uses Adobe Photoshop usually to edit photographs and resize but this is just SO much easier and oftentimes does a better job of it. Oh, and it's free.

She's lovely - you've got a few tags so I can't decide what breed she is.

thanks for the share.

She's a Miniature Australian Shepherd/North American Shepherd. They were bred from smaller Australian Shepherds, no new breeds were introduced =). In fact, many good breeders will occasionally introduce a Standard into their lines to widen the genepool, as I understand it. They stand 14-18" in height - anything above is a standard (18-23" in height, I think...) and anything below is a DQ.

Some breeders market these dogs as "Toy aussies" and I once even saw a "teacup" aussie... which in my opinion is taking it a bit too far! My breeder has a 13" that qualifies as a "toy" aussie but she has never really called him as such. Most of her aussies are bigger.

I'm really pleased with getting a pup from Crush (Willow's dam) as she has excellent bone and a very aussie look about her, whereas some of the Mini's you see get to have a toyish look about them such as domed forehead, bulging eyes and they can be fine boned. A kennel that I found in the States called Southern Cross has aussies with amazing bone they are HUGE. My breeder's kennel name is Hi Tide.

Haha sorry about the essay... I love the breed and have wanted an Australian Shepherd (the mini part was sort of by chance!) for a few years now.
