Talking Central Asian Shepherd pics

Well so far this is the only one I found hosted off my site with no direct links back.

We go each year to raise funds for the local shelter and walk 2 miles.
This is a 9 year old dog named Cozemo

You will also find him under the breed in the Dog Bible.

That is my hubby of 17 years.

Wow what a gorgeous dog! He reminds me a lot of the Pyrenean Mountain dogs we used to have, the facial expression is almost identical. Are the two breeds connected in anyway?

Sorry, I know very little about the CAS!

Cozemo is a lovely dog and both "subjects" are very photogenic :-)

Yes CASDogs go back in time to when the first dog was written about the Tibetian Mastiff by Marco Polo. We have evidence the CAS is as old if not older than the TM.
I had one that just passed away at age 11 that had the colorings of a Tm.

Cozemo is a yellow dog I have one of almost every natural color existing in the breed.
They are all livestock guardians at first.
That is a typical LGD look like Great Pry, or Maramma or PM.

But you will see shorter coated more dry looking types that are not working dogs.

Some look like Pit Bulls , american bulldogs cause they were mixed with them or Mastiffs to create a better figthing dog.

I own 12 CAS from working lines and 1 CAS now 12 this year from figthing lines
She looks is shorter = squater and a WIDE chest and is NOT built for speed but power
.

WORKING LINES ARE DOG DOMINANT AND WORK IN PACKS
FIGTHING LINES ARE DOG AGGRESSIVE AND CAN NOT WORK.
YOU WILL SEE MANY FIGTHING LINES ALSO AS TOP SHOW LINES .
SINCE THEY ARE MORE MASSIVE .

I'm familiar with the Tibetan Mastiff, beautiful dogs and I've always really admired them. I knew they were the foundation stock for the PMD, but had no idea that the CAS existed!

Cosmo is beautiful, I prefer his look to the fighting type, like a big teddy bear

So do I they are more rustic and give a impression of old souls behind those eyes.
The figthing lines are modern reps of the breed bred in countries that allow bloodsports.

Tasha is aggressive to all she meets. And thru massive work she can be outside with most all dogs - Inside no way.

Now I have bred 61 dogs and own 12 and NONE are like her . NOT even her son from
Cozemo Tanky Wanky .. So it shows me the blood lines if from working stock over power the genetics of the new lines.

All my dogs greet new dogs and posture like Wolves showing submissive and alpha positions and find their way into a pack.

Not Tasha she is not happy unless she is number one .
I love her so much she was my first however I NEVER want another like her again...
She was bred by a later convicted puppymill in PA .
GOd saw only to send me males with her 2 breedings she was spayed years ago.

My whole line is based on a female from security lines in Uzbekistan BEFORE dog fighting took hold there too.. Ali is now 8 and also spayed. But I dont know If I have a pic of her hosted some where else off my site I will look.

I'd love to see more pictures of them, they're not a breed that I've ever seen here in the UK.

UK has a few - a kid named Jason imported the first one over 7 years ago and sadly it wound up in rescue. Now a few more people have them there only a handfull.
