Talking The Swimmer

As requested...pics and videos of Oscar swimming. There's more pics than anything, I use a DSLR and as you may know, you get great quality photos, but give up videos. So when I do remember to take my compact camera, I'll get some more videos. In the meantime, I made some of the photos into a video too. Not all of them, I take around 1000-1500 photos a week, so just some of them LOL

The black Lab is Missy, she belongs to a friend of mine. She loves to swim too!

Sarah - the video, and slide shows are fantastic. When you think about it Oscar could have had such a different life to the one he has with you on one of the most beautiful islands in the world! Dogs Trust dogs are great! Do you know any of his history? What about his coat, does it need clipping?

He certainly loves to swim; although I think your sister felt the cold more than him! LOL

Missy looks like she's having a ball too.

Thank you so much for posting these.

Oscar was giving in to the Dogs Trust by a couple who were both doctors. They had alternate shifts, meaning someone was home with Oscar all the time, but then the situation changed and they were hardly at home, so felt it would be best for him to be rehomed. They had done a good job of him though, when our friends adopted him, he knew all the basic commans (and some more!) and was well socialised with dogs and people. Oscar was only at the centre for a few weeks, he was in demand to be adopted as he turned out to be such a great dog!

His coat actually looks a lot thicker than it actually it, he's usually mostly dry when he gets home. A quick brush and he goes all fluffy! So no, his coat doesn't need clipping. They have to wash his ears out regularly, as with most droopy eared breeds, they usually get full of sea water etc!

Its great that he hasn't been through any psychological/physiological trauma. He looks a lovely boy. I'm surprised he lasted even a few weeks -

Excellent photos! Looks like a fun place for a dog who loves the water.

G R E A T pictures Sarah! And to think you can swim without fear of pollution there!

He's a good boy not to crack the tennis ball. Jake always cracks a tennis ball! He has to have a solid ball.

Do you post any of your pictures on the community websites. They would be a really good advert to visit the Outer Hebrides!
