Default Puppy/Toddler Socialization Pics

I am a firm believer that the more a puppy is handled before it goes to it's new home the easier it will be on the new family. So we are trying to make sure these pups have as much socialization as possible. Not just with adults but kids of all ages as well. Plus teh cats, Luca and the ferrets. These pics are showing Dedrick, my 2yr old son, doing his very hard chore of daily socializing with the pups. He loves it. He gets to hold one pup a day himself. Usually after tehy are done eating so they basically fall asleep in his arms. He gets to pet them and kiss them throughout the day when mom or dad or another adult is holding them. But this is his special time of day when he gets to hold one himself (supervised by mom and dad of course).

So today was Mellow Yellow's turn with Dedrick. He is one of the most laid back pups, Light Blue is the same way. Mellow will relax so much in your arms that you have to be careful that he doesn't slide out. In a few of the pics you will see his head starting to fall back as he relaxes. lol

He is amazingly gentle for his age with them. We rarely have to remind him to be gentle. And he loves to kiss them. Here are 2 more pics I took today. One is of Red Collar sleeping in a corner. Yup he stayed like that for about 20 minutes. I just had to get a picture of it. And the other is just a family shot after I took reds pictures. Sheena was debating whether to stand up and eat or finish feeding the pup under her leg. She even tried to lean forward enough to grab some out of her dish. lol Of course that didn't work. She did end up finishing feeding the pup though and then went to feeding herself.

Hope you enjoyed.

How sweet--I can tell he takes his job very seriously! I can't believe what little butterballs those pups are! They are growing so fast.

Mellow is the biggest. He is well over 2 pounds and when he lays next to the ohers you can tell he is hte biggest. But don't let his size fool you. He is a big softy and Loves his cuddles.

Very sweet! You are absolutely on the right track with socialization. It will make a huge impact on their development.

Those puppies future owners probably don't realize it yet, but they're likely getting some of the best puppies available on the planet.

Kudos to you! You're an Ace breeder! You were born to do this job!

Priceless!

I'm a firm believer that pups benefit tremendously when they're raised with other dogs and kids in the home. My grandkids played a huge role in seeing that our pups were socialized properly.

What dog could possible grow up timid if they've been raised amidst the sights and sounds of playing kids?

Thank so much. I am trying my best. I decided when I first thought about breeding that if I was going to do it I was going to do it right or as close to it as I could get. I take it very seriously. Expecially since the pups I donate will be helping people to achieve their independance agian. To do that they have to have the best start in life possible.

Thanks though. You made me blush.

Your little boy is so cute and it is so nice so see children take part in the socialisatiion of puppies. Great pics, the puppies are getting big and your son looks very proud to taking part in helping them get used to children.

I'm not normally someone who is into little kids but your son is adorable. I am even a little envious of how he is getting to grow up learning to live with dogs.
Excellent excellent job you are doing with all the young little souls in your home.
