TeamTe, I had a quick eater too. I fixed the problem by sitting in the kitchen and feeding a few pieces of kibble at a time. It took a while, but my gulper is no longer a gulper. He's a real slow eater now.

You might try getting a Slo Bowl from Amazon. JGli had a post recently about them. Amazon is less expensive than the mfg site.
We haven't received ours yet. I am hoping it slows Rascal down with her eating. I will start a thread after we get it.

My Thialand Ridgeback is five months old. A couple of weeks ago a friend from doggie day care gave me a bag of sample dog food (salmon based). This is suppose to be great food and is grain free. Sells for $85 per bag. Anyway Ronin (TRB) did not like the food. He would eat it but he was almost like he did have a choice. While I was at work my husband bought him some purnia puppy food and changed his diet without mixing the food together. We also put Frontline flea treatment on him. I was not happy with that food choice as I did not think it was healthy for him and went to the original Blue Buffalo he has always eaten. The last couple of days he has thrown up a little - never a lot and he has not been his usual playful fellow. He spent 4 hrs on the sofa yesterday just sleeping. Not sure if I have made him sick with the food changes or if he has swallowed stuffing from a toy. Any advise.

M Young, Purina is really horrible food. Changing food should be a slow process, not all at once. I'm sure your pup isn't feeling so great. There are lots of good food out there. If he doesn't like the Blue Buffalo, contact them. They will refund your money. You may want to check out some of the threads we have on dog nutrition. Very informative. I would also suggest going to different dog food sites and requesting samples. Most will send you free samples, so you can pick a decent food that Robin will actually like. By the way, Welcome to the Forum!

I have to agree with Dee but I thought Purina was the company that makes/supplies the food like Bakers this is also Purina and is just as bad. But good advice given by Dee
