Default Mast Cell tumors

Has anyone had any good result in shrinking mast cell tumors with steroids.
I hate to put my old shar pei thru such invasive surgery

Not that I have heard, the best care standard for mast cell tumors, even for older dogs, is surgical removal of the tumor then chemotherapy and/or other pharmaceutical follow up.

Welcome aboard to Df under these truamatic circumstances Sorry to hear about these mast tumors sounds dreadful How old is your dog? With ageing dogs the risk of the problems associated with anasethic does go up! Have you talked to your vet about your concerns? How long has your dog been diagnosed with these tumors? The reason I ask is some cancers if treated early enough can be treated quite successfully!
I hope do hope you can get the answers you need quickly Please keep us updated!!
