Just got back from the vet and feeling really dumb. The Vet thinks they were baby rabbits. At least the vet was very nice about it. He got us in, gave her an ultrasound and didn't charge me for checking her. So no entries in any medical journals or appearances on Ripley's believe it or not, just a dog that caught a pregnant rabbit. Thanks again for all you help.

Well you never know, at least you got it checked. That was very nice of the vet to not charge you.

what's odd is that she was licking them. Maybe got confused - killed momma rabbit then decided the "babies" needed protecting. It's happened before - there was a lion* that killed a gazelle or the like and adopted it's baby as best she could.

Glad it's been sorted out.

*or cheetah or something - mind like a steel trap!

Lol, mine would of had those baby rabbits for lunch. I wouldnt really pay for the service if I was charged for it because his ability to properly spay was in question. I have a friend whos female cat wasnt spayed right and got pregnant. My aunts dog was neutered but inpregnated their intact show female (DNA test was done on all and the neutered male was the father), all these people got their pets spayed/neutered themselves so it wasnt hear say when adopting. But glad it all worked out...I would of seen those babies, looked again, have a heart attack, probably cry and vomit then run off to call the vet lol. Two things in life I dont handle well is seeing a massacre seen and death..I dont touch dead things if they got a face. So at least you were able to hold yourself together..because I sure wouldnt be able to
