Default Fast Weight Gain

I've got a male Pomeranian of about 2.5 years of age. I feed him only dry kibble and chicken wings. For the past 1.5 years his weight has been fairly consistent at about 5.6 kgs, but suddenly (in the past 3 weeks) his weight has jumped to 6.1 kgs -- in percentage terms this seems a lot.

His exercise and diet regime hasn't changed. Should this be a concern to me? His behaviour hasn't changed and he seems to be as normal and active.

Although I indicated that this exercise regime hasn't change, it's soccer season here and he's been more active with running, etc when he accompanies my son and me to the park for soccer practice. Could he be bulking up in muscle? Is that even possible?

Also when we bath him he doesn't appear any different -- that is he doesn't appear fat.

Any advise welcomed.

Increased muscle tone can bring a litle added weight. Now that it's warming up you might try cutting his food back just a little. If he continues to gain weight it would be a good idea to discuss it with your vet.
