Great stuff I like the one's about watching what you eat. "Don't eat anything that your ancestors wouldn't recognize." ... lol ... Good one M.B.

Does anyone use thier sense of smell more than 'normal' as a consequense of being around dogs so much?

I know I test the wind all the time. Sometimes it tells me something... sometimes it doesn't... *shrug*

I've always been fairly mindful of scent, actually, (even more so now that I'm pregnant, weirdly) but having a dog has made me realize how woefully inadequate my sense of smell is.

Although sometimes I'm grateful. Can you imagine what that woman in accounting, the one who drowns herself in perfume, must smell like to a dog??

Treat everyone the way you want to be treated- even if that involves repeatedly jumping 6feet in the air only to attempt to clobber any intruder with kisses and muddy feet!

I wonder if my guests would like me to clobber them with kisses...

I think I'll try it out.

lol... I don't think the word 'stink' appears in the dog lexicon, however.

I think it's a matter of being aware of all our other senses in order to help us live a fuller life.

I think we tend to disount our lesser used senses as irrelevant.

Honestly, I think I picked that up from my cats rather than my dog.

Oh, I think it might in terms of 'artificial' scents versus 'natural' ones. Dead squirrel = good smell. Bleach = bad smell. Or at the very least, ridiculously *strong* smell. You should have seen Cassie sniffing me after I got a perm: "Wth have you DONE to yourself, Mom??"

Then she sneezed.

lol...

Yeah... I re-thought my statement when I thought of smelling salts.

That might imply 'stink' to the old k9 noserino.
