Default NILIF - Nothing In Life Is Free

People have been mentioning and asking about NILIF. This is the article that other Greyhound owners pointed me to, when I was introduced to the concept. The article is by Deb McKean.

The address to the web page is: http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm

Maybe this thread should be part of the FAQ section so people can refer back to it...

That's a great Idea Kaos. There are a few recurring questions -
Shock Collars
Dog Food
Potty Training
etc etc etc

thanks for posting this! we have been doing nlif very awhile now with hemi. we've been very consistent in some areas (food, walks, etc) but not so consistent with attention. it's great reminder to me of what we need to work on!

Abby had so many little issues when we got her at 4 months of age. We talked with the local obedience club to find out their approach...it is NILIF.
I downloaded their lesson plans and we started working with Abby. When she got calm enough that we could take her to class, we did Obedience One through Three with her at the club. She is no longer shy, she will loose leash most of the time, she does not try to slip her collar, and other good stuff. We are so glad we used this system and we love living with Abs.
Can you tell we like NILIF? The best thing about Abby's development is that she now has confidence.

I love the NILIF concept. It is a daily way of living for my 4 dogs.
Interesting read, thank you.

I swear by it. I think it is the easiest way to have a well-behaved dog.
