Default Newest Embark DNA test results

It's time for another Embark results thread

100% American Pit Bull Terrier

Predicted weight was 52lbs (just like my last female) but she is nearly full grown and 27lbs. She will fill out some more and end up a little heavier, but she will never be 52lbs.

She's seal with a little bit of white. Her color genetics is exactly as I expected AyAy Bb DD EmE Kbky. Which means she's genetically dominant black, carries liver (called red nose in my breed, her dad is chocolate so no brainer there), doesn't carry dilute (blue), genetically is masked (can't see that with her color, but her mom has one so I knew likely).

Her 20 generation calculated coefficient of inbreeding is 12.8%, but Embarks genetic calculation is 9%. She does lack MHC II gene diversity.

Maybe if you bred her you could find a sire that isn't related much. Inbreeding can cause a LOT of problems

She's line bred as opposed to inbred, her parents share some of the same ancestors back in the pedigree. I've only done one inbred dog with Emnark so far, COI is 32% (by pedigree), but according to Embark genetic COI is 28%. I really want to swab his brother and see what that comes back as. The litter has no problems btw.
Inbreeding increases the chances of homozygous genes. When using pedigree data hers is over 12%, which means there's a 12% chance that any gene pair will be identical by descent and that it is theoretically likely that she's homozygous for 12% of genes. I'm actually it seems it is only at 9%, according to Embark.
It is more likely for relatives to carry more of the sane genes and of one carries a disease usually more probable that a related dog carries the same disease (though of course isn't always the case) vs a random unrelated member of the population. We know in actuality dogs of different breeds can carry the same recessive disease and when bred together produce afflicted offspring.

I don't know if I will breed her, but if so I could do an inbreeding, line breeding or outcross. There are plenty of quality unrelated studs

I think so. I feel these DNA test are kinda addictive. Though they are also very helpful!

I'd like to do Griz sister or brother and cousin and uncle.
