I like both breeds. Both are high energy though.

I love Japanese breeds( I love Japan all together
) so I am partial to the Kai ken. This is, like many breed, is not a breed for everyone and not many can handle them. The same goes for the ACD though, since it too is a working breed. The kai ken can be aloof/independent. Most often it is. They can be rather stubborn too. The thing I'd be cautious about for this breed is-Finding a good breeder outside it's native country might be difficult. I'm sure it could be done, but there also might be the possibility that you would have to import a puppy(which holds risks of it's own). Might be harder to find a good breeder for this breed then the ACD. {I was only able to find one breeder in America years back when I was thinking about getting this breed, I'm not sure if more have come up since then} But... If you research the breed and are sure this breed is a good fit for you/your lifestyle, then go with it ![]() This thread goes over owning a Kai ken: http://www.shibainuforum.org/forum/d...-a-kai-ken-/p1 Last edited by Ama; 01-16-2013 at 03:24 PM.. |

I think I'd prefer the ACD. More drive, more energy.
