Default Do you really like dogs more than people?

I've read this comment so many times that it's made me wonder if the one that writes it really means it. Or if it's just said in the heat of the moment, such as when reading about a case of animal abuse.

To my way of thinking, dogs are great companions, nice to cuddle with, fun to have around, sometimes challenging and they can sure enough make you laugh or cry! But even with all the good stuff, they fall a little short of real human relationships.

I love having a dog (or dogs) in my life, but I wouldn't want to give up all human contact and just spend every single waking moment in isolation with dogs!

Would you?

I dislike most people so yes I much prefer to be in the company of dogs over ANY human

Fall short of human relationships? I think humans fall short in that department
Dogs offer you unconditional love people
do not

Dogs dont lie ,cheat or have drama
People do

Dogs accept you as you are and dont try to change you
People do

Heres a lil food for thought...

If...

If you can start the day without caffeine or pep pills

If you can be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains.

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it

If you can understand when loved ones are too busy to give you time

If you can overlook when people take things out on you, when through no fault of your own, something goes wrong

If you can take criticism and blame without resentment

If you can face the world without lies and deceit

If you can conquer tension without medical help

If you can relax without liquor

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

...Then, you are almost as good as your dog.

So yea people fall way short Ill take any dog over any person any day

I just can't compare the two, I like dogs and people differently I would say that I meet more people that I dislike than dogs that I dislike!

Putting it in a different context, I've always said if I had my life over again I'd have puppies instead of kids. This saying started with my older 2 boys always fighting with each other & then ganging up on their younger brother when he came along. As teenagers they still had their differences & as they aged became friends.
Now I'm a grandmother & love my little granddaughter. But I still think if I had my life over.........................
And back to the question, I do love dogs & their company & my family & friends.

I generally prefer dogs to people - because it's rare I meet a dog I don't like or understand and I meet horrible people quite regularly. So if it's a numbers game, I like more dogs than people.

Obviously the people I do like I wouldn't want to swap for dogs, those nearest and dearest to me do understand how much I love the dogs though!

My family love dogs almost as much as I do (I'm the most extreme, my sister is into horses more) so they understand - it's where I get it from.

If I had to choose between a day meeting lots of new dogs, and a day meeting lots of new people - dogs would win hands down (or should that be paws?)

I think it's extremely important to have human interaction ( For a while now I forgot what that is all about) I miss it I used to have a friend who i used to go out with for a drink on a tuesday once a week and I looked forward to it, any way his girlfriend is very controling and I can't get to speak to him and it's driving me crazy, But like most members on here the "majority" of people I have no time for but still trying to seek out nice people if there is any?

Sorry to hear about you missing a friend Bigboy - I've always hated other women who thought they needed to control every aspect of their men's lives. Its much easier to find a man that is anti-social and has few friends

As for liking dogs more than people I would have to say that if I only had my dog and the internet I could manage quite well for a long time but then I would still have the higher socialization of other people online. However, since I am a Mom of three non-fur children I am forced to do a certain amount of human to human socialization every day; I have other Mom friends, my husband and mother live with me as well and I tend to meet and talk to other people that are out walking their dogs. I know if I go too long without talking to other two leggers I do miss it but it takes quite a while.

Cass
