Default Puppy is whining, won't leave my side, pawing at me to continually pet him

I don't know what is wrong with him! As mentioned, he won't leave my side, he walks about three feet away, whines, turns around comes right back to me, looks up at me, paws at me to pet him.
He does chew on EVERYTHING! I'm thinking maybe he either chewed something that has upset his stomach - maye he swallowed something that won't pass - could it be puberty? He is just not acting himself at all. I will take him to the emergency vet if necessary, but if it is something like "puberty" I hate to spend unnecessary money. I will spend my last dime if necessary, so please don't get me wrong! I just don't know what to do!!

Any and all suggestions or comments are welcome!

A Good Sign To Look For If Your Dogs Stomach Is Upset, Is That He/she Will Eat Grass. I Heard That A Long Time Ago, And Everytime My Dogs Stomach Is Upset, He Eats Grass, It Never Fails. I Know That It Is Hard, But If You Have Given All The Attention That You Want To, You Have To Ignore Him A Little Bit. He Will Think That When He Paws You, That You Will Give Him Attention Everytime. And He Will Continue To Do It, Because He Knows That It Works. Give It A Few Days, And If He Isn't Better, I Would Think About Taking Him To The Vet, I Wouldn't Make A Trip Just Yet, But If It Doesn't Get Any Better In About 3-4 Days, I Would Take Him To The Vet Just To Be Sure That Everything Is Fine.

Thanks for writing back! Because he does chew on everything I believe it might be his stomach also. I've taken him outside numerous times and he won't eat any grass! He won't pee (or anything else) he just paces away from me a little bit, then back to me whining! I just got him to drink a little water. He won't eat his food. He won't play with any toys. He just isn't himself at all! I have a call into his vet - and missed it when I was out with him!!! AAAHH!! I appreciate your input. It's just nice to know someone out there cares!!

It is a puppy they do chew on all things if left to do this it is up to you to stop him now. You must be his boss and leader to teach right from wrong or he will never quit. He has no upset stomach this is being a normal puppy to climb on you if u let him do this. I just got two new gals from across the pond and they want to jump up and I am teaching them this is a NO NO I will NOT tolerate pups jumping up on people. They remain on the ground happily. If he is eating and not throwing up or any diaherra he is fine and dandy and being a naughty puppy, stop his bad habits.

Welcome to Dogforum.org.

How old is your pup ? How long have you had him ? This may be some separation anxiety.

Does he appear sick? Is he looking at his stomach and whining ? Is he rolling around as if in pain ? Is he bloated badly ? Those are all signs of stomach pain and possibly a blockage.

The fact that he has lost his interest in food and has not gone to the bathroom makes me nervous.

Honestly, I would take him into your vet as soon as possible.

Best Wishes!

I agree with the above, if it is a sudden change in behaviour, he is off food and won't play as normal I would check it out at the vets.

Default To All Concerned!

Thank you for all concerned with replies! Sully seems to be feeling better this morning. He has gone out and done it all!!! He is running around energized and picking on my grandbaby as usual!
It is so heart warming to know that there are folks out there that care enough to write back with words of encouragement and suggestions. Since I did not hear back from my vet again, it truly means the world to me! Thank you everyone.
