Interesting question! It looks like the answer is yes, but it is not very frequent.
Here's a link on it:

I have heard of twin kittens before but never twin dogs. But if it can happen with cats, no reason why it can't happen with dogs eh?

Reason for asking is because when my chocolates were born I almost had to go to the vet because I had 2 coming down the birth canal at the same time, I was finally able to push one a bit back to get the other one out first but they both came out together and were in the same sack, I am positive they are twins but I woundered "Is this possible" or am I imagining things.
thankx

I am sure you have googled this and now this would be extremely RARE!! If you birth them two in one sack then you know twins, who wants them. It is hard enough on female with one as mine are very large pups, I would not want twins in one sak, maybe two different colors, sure u already new this? And there is also dry births i have had very painful for the female. Most likely yours came one sak on one and other none.

I didn't really mention anything because I thought people would think I was a nut to think dog could have twins, they are the only 2 in the litter that are chocolate, both female and are both identical in appearance.
Maybe I am wrong but I know I seen them come out together sharing a pleneta, I should have recorded it...Maybe I am just crazy lol

That is another reason I told you to keep each placenta to check it out for size, and to see if it is all there, some can be left inside the female, you could of told by looking if two were in one had you kept and looked at them compared to single births??????

Madison wanted to eat the plecentas terribly bad, so after pupwas was born I got pleneta, wrote down how many pups and how many plecentas there were then figured it out.
A female will have a fever after birth if a plecenta is still inside and she is showing no signs of fever, uncomfort, or any unregular discharge so I think all is well
