Default More and More Dog Food Recalls

Is it just me or does it seem like there are a crazy amount of recalls for pet food lately?

New one here for Diamond Pet Food

I'm not surprised. Again, you have to do your homework and find out whey they source their food.... if it's from China, switch brands.

It is scary, people food too, there's always printout signs in the market like " Our beef is blahblahblah" <Oh thank you, I feel so much better your meat hasn't been infected yet> or the Kraft sign that mentions a recall for wire bristles in some of their products but no injuries have been reported...gah

It's been good to see Diamond be pro-active, since the melamine crisis. I wholeheartedly concur that, if you know a company is sourcing ingredients from China, to avoid that food; unfortunately, even very good companies, who thought they were getting US product, were duped during the melamine crisis, and got melamine-adulterated corn gluten meal from China, instead. Many companies got duped by an unscrupulous Chinese mainland manufacturer. That same company put melamine into domestic baby formula, too. The Chinese didn't act while pets around the world were dying, but when Chinese babies started dying from melamine poisoning in the baby formula, the company management was executed.

Default Dog Food Recall for Choking Risk

Theres been a recall of three types of Pedigree dog foods last week due to a potential choking hazard. The food may contain small pieces of blue plastic, which entered the food during the production process, Mars had said. The source of the plastic was identified and the issue was resolved, but Mars asked consumers to throw out or return the recalled dog food.

The recalled products are Pedigree+ Healthy Weight Premium Ground Entree in Meaty Juices, with a UPC of 2310034974; Pedigree Weight Management Meaty Ground Dinner Beef & Liver Dinner in Meaty Juices, UPC 2310001913; and Pedigree Weight Management Meaty Ground Dinner Chicken & Rice Dinner in Meaty Juices, UPC 2310023045.
