I don't know why, but I do know that Jake will sell his soul for peanut butter - especially stuffed in his kong with banana!

Breagha loves peanut butter too, Todd hates it. The look on his face when we smeared some on his nose/mouth. He was convinced we were trying to smother him with peanut butter LOL. He just hates it. Breagha ended up licking it off him.

lol...I think it has to do with the salt and sugar, myself. I did an informal test with my own dogs, thinking to shift to a natural peanut butter with less sodium, sugar and added fat. The brand they preferred the most was not the brand I had been using for kongs, but a cheaper, store label peanut butter that was highest in salt and sugar. The ones they liked least were the "natural" or organic peanut butters without added salt and sugar. The one they liked least was a smooth peanut butter ground in the store that contained nothing but peanuts.

I believe also the salt might have to do with liking it as they will lick our arms, legs, etc because of salt. Dogs also usually eat what we eat or would like to eat alot of what we eat. Peanut butter some of mine like, some will not come near it, just one of those Kong treats that is good to put in and freeze for them to work on.
