Default Bonnie practicing

Bonnie sit staying with the "big dogs" at our arena. We are putting on a demonstration of both Agility and Obedience on this Saturday to show people what dogs are capable of with training.

That is a magazine-worthy picture! They all look so well-behaved! (Bonnie has the added advantage of looking as cute as a button too :-))

The German Shepherd on the left is the one who attacked Bonnie so she was especially good to stay sitting. I haven't been doing much obedience training with Bonnie, just sit in when they are doing long sits and downs. As long as she walks like she does, on a loose leash, can run off leash and comes right away when I call her, I am going to concentrate more on the Agility with her.

I am going to start taking her to a Foundation Agility class next month even though she is already good on the dog walk, tunnels, table and I am just starting her on a low teeter that my sister made. It has two levels, one with a drop of just a few inches, one a little higher, then we have the regular height teeter. I have had her over a couple of six inch jumps and through the tire. She is just over a year so I can start getting more serious with her.

Looks like we will not be doing the Foundation Agility after all. Bonnie came in season today. I wanted to give her two seasons before I had her spayed and I knew she had her first season six months ago but sometimes they will go longer than six months between seasons. Also, won't be able to take her to any Agility practices along with Lucy for a while or go for walks around the Lake.

Oh well. At least you can do training by yourself!

Had our Club demonstration on Saturday. Not a great turnout of spectators but gave us all a chance to practice with more people around. I did both a Rally and an Agility demo with Kris. Did some Agility with Lucy along with my sister's Rat Terrier and the Papillon and a lot of the others did Obedience. They took a group photo for the newspaper, will have to figure out how I can post it.
