Default Kris & Agility

The Agility club I belong to has been pretty dormant this year, no classes or anything, just our one trial we put on in August. Sounds like we may start to have drop-in classes, I hope so.

I was putting Kris over the teeter this afternoon. Usually she slam, bangs her way over it and I have been trying to get her to do a 2o2o. I was showing someone how she does it and what does she do but a perfect 2o2o and held it. She always does the unexpected, not that I expect her do it every time but it is a start. Now if I can just get her to do it on the A-frame instead of launching herself off halfway up. She is good about doing 2o2o on the dog walk as she does not get up as much speed on it.

Maybe drop in classes are a good thing for right now as you are stuck waiting for you second surgery? I would love to see pictures and videos of Kris practicing (but I am willing to wait until you are all healed up and have a spare hand for your camera :-) )

I too think that drop in classes will help fill the gap till the main classes start up again this will help Kris to get in to a routine so to speak ! I wish you both well and hope every thing goes to plan Good luck

Have been having some fun with drop-in classes with Remmy. It was our third one today, one more next week, then have to wait till spring when it is not as cold.

Remmy has pretty well been off over a year from doing any Agility and he sure loves to be back doing it. I am doing it with him as it is mostly small dogs, three Papillons, my sister's Rat Terrier and a miniature poodle. I have the Obedience with Kris before the Drop In so usually run her over some of the obstacles then.

Remmy works really well at a distance so cuts down on the amount of running I have to do and I can stop any time I want or need to.

Sounds like both Kris and Remmy are doing well and having fun. Has a date been set for your second surgery? I know you will be glad when that is done and you can get back "up to speed".

It was supposed to be booked for Dec. but instead the Specialist phoned up and I have to go and see him this coming Wednesday so they can discuss what they are going to do. Why they need to "discuss" it with me I do not know. The surgeon that did my left leg told me the two ways they could do it so obviously I want them to do it the best way possible and they should know better than me. Just means I will probably not get it done till next year.

Sorry that it will probably be next year, but like you said, you want it to be done the best way possible.

Maybe they still want your input on how it is done. Some ways may be riskier that others.
It's so good you can keep up with the agility too.
