Default Upcoming Trial

So, we're at it again. Dyno is now doing some excellent and open level runs in classes, so we're going to be going to a local Trial April 6th. Another Novice JWW and a Novice Standard I had my doubts with the standard but the way he's attacking his teeter today (And the time we still have to practice) I think this time we'll Q. He's getting more and more confident in classes with tight maneuvers. Though we did change where we are primarily practicing, and they have different footing. It's a sand/rubber mulch mix and Dyno LOVES it.

We are breaking back out our set of weaves to try and build s'more drive towards them They defiantly are not his favorite. But I do think a lot of it has to do with the way he's been exposed to each way of learning weaves and haven't just been learning them one way or another.

HI Louuie hope it goes really well for Dyno I see it's around 7 weeks time so you will have plenty of time to prepare and to win Will you be able to do a video or take some pics? Good luck for the 16th April

You do know that we have to see at least pictures... or a video would be great! Dyno will do fine. I have no doubt that he will Q.

Of course there will be pictures and Video!

My only concern is time. He's not the fastest dog, but he's getting steady. In JWW I think we'll be fine, but standard he's going to be slow I think. So I'm trying to figure where I can cut some time. But, I'm fine with my slow dog :P Long as he's having fun and long as I'm having fun i'm a happy camper.

How old is Dyno? And I take it he is in good health! You have plenty of time to get his speed up say on walks Or even better if you both have the skill get him to run along side of you while you are on a bike, if you have done this before great. If not get some practice in and take it slowly first to start with Just a thought!

Well. The ranged him from 4-6 two years ago So, between 6 and 8 they guess.

He's not exactly built to be the most athletic dog. He can trot all day long and he'll bike along side me for about a mile (though it's not fair to him to do so) He's getting faster just with time and practice in his own way. Very rarely does he really truely run, unless it's after rabbits. While long short legged dogs can be fast, he's by far too muscular to do so. I'm just proud of how hard he tries. If you recall, There is a prior thread of his videos and how he was doing. I'll see if next Wednesday I can bring my proper camera and get some videos of our practicing

Food for thought

Bigboy, Dyno is a short little dog. Agility is a little bit different for his body type.

My sister and my Shih Tzu x Maltese are probably built a lot like your little dog. They are not the speediest little dogs but we sure have fun with them and they have lots of fun too. We compete in AAC in Canada and they do allow a few more seconds for the little dogs which helps.

Our first trial this year is the weekend of March 10th - 11th.

I giggled, You may not have intedned to word it that way but it gave me a good giggle.

"My sister and my Shih Tzu x Maltese are probably built a lot like your little dog"

And if you did intend it that you sister is short legged and of stocky build then I apologize for my giggle.

This will only be our second trial. In our first one we only did JWW, and we also jump in preferred since him consistently jumping 16 I think is too much.
