Default Indoor Play Time!

It is starting to get very cold and snowy where I live so I was wondering if anyone had any good indoor games? Soda is an 11 month old Great Dane, so we need... games that won't ruin my house too much. So far we can play 'tug of war' but after too long gets sore on my arms because he is soooo strong. I've tried 'fetch' from on end of the house to the other, but he seems to slip and slide on the laminate and I don't want him to hurt himself. Plus he seems to get a little too hyper playing that game. Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks!

Agility showed a video of Ion and Ash solving a puzzle. Maybe you could search on that and get some ideas for Soda.

Hi! I've just bought one of these for my terrier, who is recovering from major spinal surgery;

Doggy Brain Train 2-in-1 Dog Intelligence Toy at zooplus

Clearly you are going to need something pretty large and robust for Soda, but I'm sure there will be something! Try Googling "dog intelligence toys" (be careful about searching for "dog mental stimulation toys", I got one very bizarre result ).

You will rarely be able to exhaust a dog physically - well, Nellie isn't easy to tire - but mental stimulation is equally important and will really test him in the days where you can't get outside.

Good luck!!

Indoors or outdoors, one of my dog's favorite games is "find". She is terrific at scenting so I will have her stay in one room and have her sniff a piece of chicken or a treat. I then go hide the treat in another room and tell her to "go find". That tail never stops wagging until she finds the treat. She'll keep this up until I run out of chicken!

My two dogs are very active. If I wan't live in peace in my house I have run them till there tired every day. We either play fetch. Go for a walk and let them run off leash, Or take them swimming till there tired.

Walking them on the leash just winds them up.
