Default 2011 Agility trial

We just entered our first Agility trial for this year. It will be more of a training session than anything as we have not been able to do any Agility since our last trial in November.

It is just a one day trial but we will have to stay overnight on Sat. and Sun. night as it is a four hour drive each way. We will be going in my brother-in-law's fifth wheel trailer as there are hook-ups at the fairgrounds. It is at an indoor arena but haven't been there in the winter so don't know if it is heated or not. The end of February can still be really cold up here and the snow is not usually gone.

They have four classes, two Standard, one Jumper and one Snooker. I have Remmy entered in all four and Kiska just in the Jumper Class as still have the weaves and A-frame to conquer. My sister is entering Mikey in all four classes too.

It's always fun to start scheduling the trials for the new year. I went to one over New Years and am planning on on in feb., two or three in March, two or three in April, two in May and two on une. It will be a busy season, but Asher is really starting to get it together. He has his Excellent Std. and Umpers titles now!!

Have fun at the trial and scheduling the rest of your spring season.

Remmy is in Masters Jumpers and Masters Gamblers so just needs two more Advanced Snooker to get his Advanced Games Title. He needs three Advanced Standard to move up. I backed off a little in the Advanced Standard classes last year and concentrated on the Games.

Kiska has just been in Starters Jumper classes but improves every time and has so much more confidence now. I never thought she would get to the point she was at in the November trial. She missed one jump but just raced around the course, flew through the tunnel and chute. Now if I can just keep control of her, she should have no trouble getting some Q's although that was not my reason for starting her in Agility. I just wanted for her to get more confident around people and other dogs and it has sure done that for her.
