Default Simba's achievement

A really tiny, weeny thing for most dogs but a huge, gigantic step for Scaredy Simba who has been attending agility class since May but rarely got out of the car as it was all far too scary. She previously freaked out at having her front paws on the contact equipment.

A short clip of her new skill - the A frame

And her learning the dogwalk (though her balance leaves a lot to be desired as yet so I still have close control of her)

Can you believe this is the same dog I brought home 3.5 years ago that I was advised to have PTS cos she was too nervous to ever get better?

Thank you all

I never thought i'd get her doing anything like this with her nervous issues so to say i'm proud of her is an understatement, I could practically burst with happiness!

The confidence she has gained from these exercises and the praise she receives has really helped her a lot, plus part of the environment involves socialising with a pack of other dogs which has again been great for her, as her doggy communication skills were a bit stinted and she was uncomfortable in big groups of dogs (she'd always be the loner on the outskirts).

I've begun shaping 'right' and 'left' turns and targets for contact work once she's got her balance a bit better. The real tests now will be if we can get her onto the seesaw and through the flat tunnel, but if that takes another year then so be it.

She has truly surprised me with just how much she can achieve, all things considered of course.

Mel you have done fantastic work with Simba. You deserve some of the credit too for sticking with it and helping her become more what she can be! ( Sounds like an Army comercial here in the U.S.! )
