Default Remmy and Kiska

Arrived home late last night from our two day trial. Remmy was very good, finished his two Q's in Advanced Jumpers so moves into Masters now. He has two more Q's to get in Snooker to earn his Advanced Games Dog Title. That is something to aim for next year as the trials are pretty well finished in our area till Spring.

The Star of the Weekend was Kiska. She did not earn any Q's but had three runs in Starters Jumpers. Her first class was in the outside ring and she did everything perfectly. I was so pleased when she went through the chute which has been a problem since that first time in the pouring rain. She went through the chute no problem and I spent too much time telling her what a good girl she was so we missed out on time but I did not care. The judge even came up to me after the class to congratulate me on making such a big fuss over my dog when she did the chute when I did not think she would do it. Made me feel good. Plenty of time to get Q's next year. Her second class was indoors and she got the Zoomies which I was really pleased with, shows she is getting more confident and she did finally come back to me and completed the course, even the dreaded chute. Her third class, she was just tired (mentally more then physically) and I wished afterwards that I had scratched her. She hesitated at the chute (the last obstacle) and stepped back but then went through so we ended up with one fault. If anyone had seen her at her first trial, then this weekend at her third trial, you would think it was a different dog.

Congratulations to all of you! and how nice that the judge noted that you have your priorities so well-ordered. I didn't see any mention of rain this time so that is good news too :-)

It sounds like a successful weekend all around. Congrats to you and both dogs, especially Kiska, who has overcome a fear. I know how important and what a big step that is.
