Default 2nd Weekend of Agility trials

Second weekend of miserable weather for outdoor trials. Friday, driving down and that evening it was so hot you could not sleep. Poured during the night and stormy all day but the rain held off till Saturday night.

Remmy did great in his first Masters Gamblers, no Q, but the Mini Gamble was a challenge and he did it perfectly the first time, missed the second time so did not have enough points but finished the closing Gamble. The mini Gamble was a straight tunnel, five feet to the right was the weaves, then five feet from that was another straight tunnel. You had to send them through the one tunnel, and across and back down the other tunnel without stepping over the line. What made it difficult was that the tunnels are ten feet long and the Weaves, now that they are 24 inch spacing were considerably longer so they had to go out and around them in order to hit the other tunnel. The second time through Remmy went just inside the last pole. Was so pleased with him.

Kiska, in her second ever trial, did well too. Unfortunately the first obstacle in the Jumpers was the chute which she had trouble with last weekend with the heavy rain while she was in the ring. She just did not want to do it but completed all the other jumps and tunnels without missing a single one. Granted, it was probably one of the slowest rounds but that will improve as her confidence gets better and she was much improved from her first trial.

So, no Q's but had a good time and Remmy and my biggest problem is time, more me than him. Just wish the weather would be a little nicer. Have another outdoor trial next weekend.

It seems like you've had your share of bad weather. It's nice to hear that your dogs did well in spite of it.

Wlw. Thta IS a tough gamble! I'm glad you had fun in spite of the weather. I'm continually blessed to be in an area with very, very few outdoor trials. I hate them.

I have just entered another trial in October which I have not been to before. They have an indoor and an outdoor ring so at least the one day you run inside and the second day they reverse so the classes you run indoors are outdoors the next day. It is just Games so should be fun.

Last year I went to one indoor trial but as it is in November, think I may miss it for this year depending on the weather. I think I will have to start running some Trials down on the Coast as most of them are indoors as they get so much rain and it is fun going to new places.
