Default Weekend Agility trial

Well, the weather looks pretty good for the weekend. We have had thunder and lightning and pouring rain and hail most of today but at least the smoke has all gone, the sun is out and the sky fairly clear. Stayed around 10 degrees so is not overly hot but that could change.

Don't expect much from Kiska as it is her first trial, will just be happy if we get around the course without her leaving the ring. She is just in Jumpers tomorrow, nothing on Sunday. The main reason I started her in Agility was to boost her confidence and it has made a great big difference in her reactions to strangers. She even let some children pat her at one of our practices.

Remmy will have a busy weekend as he is in three classes each day.

Home from the two day trial. The weather was cold and windy both days. On Saturday, just as Kiska was going into the ring it pelted down rain. She was going good until she hit the chute and it was heavy from the rain so she had trouble going through it. After three trys, you could see this little drowned dog poking her nose out through the chute. She did a few more jumps, then we ran out of time. She did far better than I thought she would especially considering the weather. You could tell she would rather have been somewhere else.

Remmy was a lot faster doing the six inch jumps instead of the ten and was really focused and tried his best. He did get a Q in Advanced Gamblers which I was very proud of, especially since I did the tunnel, one jump, then I fell over the end of the wing of the jump and landed in a heap. Remmy stopped and I lept up and we kept going. His closing was absolutely perfect, one of the few that made it. Now he has had three Q's in Advanced Gamblers and will have to move up to Masters Gamblers next weekend. Had a great time and I am looking forward to the trials on the next two weekends.

You should be very proud of both your dogs especially considering the weather. I think I'd have rather been somewhere warm and dry too. Glad you weren't hurt when you fell!
