I am in this small Texas coast town of 4000 last census. We have one vet here in town. However, his hospital is rated as one of the top 10 in design in the country. He has an in house lab, does x-rays and sonograms. Separate isolation, the ICU has heated cages. He has 4 exam rooms, two for cats and smaller dogs, two for larger dogs.

he did knee surgery on both knees of my golden retriever, KaycCee, the first at 16 months, the other 14 months later at age 2 1/2. She got taken by cancer just before her 9th birthday and she never had a problem with those knees. If he runs into something he doesn't KNOW he can fix, he sends you to a specialist in Houston or San Antonio, or sometime Corpus Christi.

Peole drive 25 miles out from Corpus to have him treat their pets. One guy whose lab swallowed a golf ball brought the dog down from Dallas--400 miles, for my vet to do the surgery. He also treated the state's top arson dog, a malinois (probably didn't spell that right.)

He has always had reasonable prices, but had start charging morelast year due to horrible increase in insurance (you know, hurricane, tornadoes spun from hurricane, etc) and taxes. An exam is now $45.A 6 pack of Interceptor HW prevention for dogs up to 100 pounds is $55.
