IMO I wouldn't take him to a doggy chiropractor at this stage - you haven't got a definitive diagnosis apart from sprain. Just in case he's done something more severe it would not be appropriate to have his spine realigned or his underdeveloped bones and tissues wrenched an dpulled.

Yes, do put down extra rugs etc he can stand on and if he's struggling lift him up as he'll strain his back more and cause pain if he struggles too much. Depending upon his size you could make a sling for him with a towel (I used an old leotard for one of my dogs).

Massage won't do any harm if you know what you are doing and acupuncture would certainly help if he's in pain -

did the vet give you any medication?
